GEOCUE STRENGTHENS LIDARGRAMMETRY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PORTFOLIO
Huntsville, AL - GeoCue® Corporation, the inventor of LIDARgrammetry, has an extensive portfolio of intellectual property for creating and exploiting a variety of LIDAR data using image processing and conventional photogrammetric techniques. LIDARgrammetry, among other features, provides producers and exploiters of LIDAR data methods of using these data in conventional photogrammetric workflows. These tools are encapsulated in the company’s LIDAR 1 and Mobile Mapping System (MMS) CuePacs® as well as LP360™ from QCoherent Software LLC (a wholly owned GeoCue subsidiary).
GeoCue Corporation has now been awarded a United States patent (“Visualization and storage algorithms associated with processing point cloud data”) covering fundamental technologies required to produce LIDAR visualization and exploitation images, stereo LIDAR image generation, Nyquist analysis images as well as techniques for fast rendering of Triangulated Irregular Networks (TIN).
“For a small company, GeoCue has made substantial R&D investments in algorithm and software development for LIDAR data processing and exploitation,” said Jim Meadlock, Chairman of GeoCue Corporation. “We are extremely pleased to have our investments validated and protected by this patent award. This newly allowed patent combined with our proprietary intellectual property and substantial copyright holdings in software, provides us the confidence to continue to bring innovative products to market.”
GeoCue Corporation (www.geocue.com) is a software development and consulting services company specializing in geospatial production management solutions and creating tools for improving geospatially organized processes.
